Highlights of the tour:
Day 01
Arrive Bengaluru
Arrive Bengaluru International Airport. You will be met on arrival by our representative and transferred to the airport hotel. Stay at Taj Bangalore for the night. Remainder of the day at leisure.
Day 02
Bengaluru - Kabini
After breakfast drive to Kabini or Nagarhole National Park. Stay for two nights at Kaav Safari Lodge.
Day 03
Kabini
Enjoy full day of jungle activities - early morning and afternoon game drives. A visit to the jungle this afternoon for a game drive. All activities inside the jungle are arranged by the wildlife authorities - a mix of jeep or canter rides / motor boat trips; all on a shared basis
Day 04
Kabini - Bandipur
After breakfast drive to Bandipur National Park. Stay two nights at Dhole's Den, an eco-conscious safari homestay. Enjoy a game drive in the afternoon. A visit to the jungle this afternoon for a game drive. All activities inside the jungle are arranged by the wildlife authorities - a mix of jeep or canter rides all on a shared basis.
Day 05
Bandipur
Enjoy full day of jungle activities - early morning and afternoon game drives
Day 06
Bandipur - Ootty - Coonoor
A short drive through Mudumalai national park and Masinagudi will take you to Ooty, known as the 'Queen of Nilgiris'. Afternoon board the Nilgiri hill train from Ooty for a scenic ride to Coonoor. The mountain railway, or ‘toy train’ as it is most commonly known, was built by the British in 1908 and still relies on its fleet of trusty steam locomotives. This long journey on the original narrow gauge tracks is for many a trip highlight with its spellbinding scenery. Stay at the Gateway Hotel Coonoor for the night.
Day 07
Coonoor - Chinnar
After breakfast drive to the famous Manupatti, a small village in the foothills of Western Ghats. Stay at Chinnar Eco Living for two nights. Enjoy a nature walk through the plantation in the evening.
Day 08
Chinnar - Munnar
This morning, go on a trek to Chinnar Wildlife Sanctuary. The treks will include bird watching, wildlife watching, butterfly watching, plants and herbs and archaeological sites. The choice of trekking trails also depends upon the physical fitness of the travellers. The Chinnar Wildlife Sanctuary is located in the rain-shadow region of the Western Ghats and therefore the vegetation is different from the high ranges. Animal enthusiasts have the opportunity of spotting tufted grey langur, slender loris, elephants, gaur, crocodiles and on a lucky day, leopards. Later drive through forest lands of Chinnar wildlife sanctuary to majestic Munnar, home to lush tea plantation in the mountainous Western Ghats. In the evening, take a leisurely stroll through the Cardamom and spice plantations. Stay at Windermere Estate Munnar for two nights.
Day 09
Munnar
After breakfast, go on a safari and trek through the smallest national park in Kerala and is completely through the Shola forest which are unique to the Southern Western Ghats hosting a diversity of fauna and flora specific to the ecosystem. We could spot most of the endemic birds of this region like Nilgiri flycatcher, Kerala laughing thrush, Black and rufous flycatcher, Nilgiri wood pigeon and a lot more. Also, this national park offers the best opportunity to spot the Nilgiri marten and is also known for Indian gaur, sambar deer, Nilgiri langur, Malabar giant squirrel and possibly, elephants.
Day 10
Periyar
After breakfast, drive through the winding ghat road to Periyar wildlife Sanctuary, South India’s best-kept Tiger reserve. Stay at Spice Village for two nights. Visit a spice plantation in the evening to learn more about the spices grown in this area.
Day 11
Periyar
Early morning you will be transferred to the boat landing point of Periyar Tiger Reserve. Enjoy a half day bamboo rafting and trekking through some of the richest forest paths of the Periyar Tiger Reserve. Try your hand at navigating a raft across the famous Periyar Lake, followed by a visit to Periyar Tiger Reserve where you may spot wildlife including elephants, Sambar deers and Indian bisons.
Day 12
Alleppey
This morning, you’ll drive down the hills visiting the tea and rubber plantations enroute to Alleppey, famous for its tranquil backwaters. Afternoon, board your private houseboat (Kettuvallom) for an overnight cruise through the famous Vembanad Lake. Enjoy a relaxing cruise through the tranquil backwaters and narrow canals enjoying the village life. Your lunch, evening tea and dinner will be served on board the houseboat. Overnight on houseboat.
Day 13
Cochin
After a leisurely breakfast, you disembark from the houseboat at Alleppey, where you’ll be met by the driver and transferred to the colonial port town of Cochin. Afternoon you’ll explore the heritage quarters of Fort Cochin & Mattancherry. You will visit the local fish market, Chinese Fishing Nets and the St. Francis Church in Fort Cochin.
Day 14
Transfer to Cochin Airport
Like all good things, your tour in India comes to an end but you will always carry with you, memories of this unique and unforgettable holiday experience. In goodtime you will be transferred to Cochin International Airport to connect your flight home.
